Abstract
This paper presents a Yagi antenna with frequency domain filtering performance. The first director and reflector of the Yagi antenna are designed to close to the driven element, which improves the loaded Q factor of the antenna. The spacing and length of the directors and reflectors are optimized to suppress the gain at out-band. From simulated and measured results, it can be observed that the proposed antenna keeps characteristics of traditional Yagi antenna in the passband, meanwhile presents extra gain suppression at out-band and the rate of cut-off associated with the edges of the pass band is improved.
