Abstract
Comparisons are made between the SIMPLE algorithm and a new unsegregated multigrid methodology using a Peuta diagonal matrix algorithm (PDMA). Both strategies give accurate predictions for the flow under consideration when used in conjunction with the QUICK discretization scheme. The study recommends the use of a PDMA to solve for the coefficient matrices which occur as a result of employing higher order schemes since it results in economically more viable solutions. Further improvements in processing time are considered.
