This chapter discusses paradoxes for thinking that time travel is impossible. I briefly discuss the Time Discrepancy Paradox before focusing the bulk of the discussion on the Paradox of Changing Time and the Grandfather Paradox. The chapter then discusses two families of response for avoiding the latter paradoxes—Ludovician responses (saying that time travel is possible but that the past cannot be changed) and non-Ludovician responses (which introduce devices like extra universes or additional dimensions of time in order to allow for time travellers to alter the past).
