Abstract

Patients with liver cirrhosis represent 2–5% of the intensive care unit (ICU) population [1, 2]; their admission is associated with a high mortality (36–86%) [3,4,5]. Acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) is present in most of these patients. This article provides ten tips to support intensivists treating patients with ACLF.
