The delay in tendering documents in international documentary sales of goods: CISG and Jordanian Sharia

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Compares the approaches of the Jordanian Civil Code and the Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods 1980 to whether delay in tendering documents for international sales of goods was a breach of contract. Reviews key differences in their approaches using a 2017 Jordanian ruling, suggests how the Convention-based decision introduces inconsistencies to Jordanian law, and how applying the Code would have produced the same result.
