This chapter presents the salient features of the UAE labor market and the distinguishing context that defines the various job categories. It delves into socioeconomic and talent signals that form the core of the UAE labor market while outlining the implications for human resource practice. The chapter concludes by discussing the effective government initiatives that promote the Emiratization agenda of the UAE government to ensure that the UAE workforce is adequately skilled and properly placed in the available jobs.
