Stalking Perpetration and Victimisation among Adolescents

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Adolescent stalking is a growing concern globally, and it can pose serious threats to victims’ well-being, their families, and society. Despite a recent surge in empirical research on stalking, little is known about adolescent stalking, and only a handful of empirical studies have been published on adolescent stalking prior to the current decade. This chapter reviews 11 empirical studies on adolescent physical and cyberstalking published between 2014 and 2021 (with a literature search period between 2013 and mid-2023) and synthesises recent findings on adolescent stalking, including its prevalence, nature, and psychosocial and lifestyle risk factors. The chapter concludes with several key takeaways.
