Abstract

Searches have been made for states in C-16 with a structural overlap with an alpha:2n:alpha:2n:alpha configuration using reactions of a 130 MeV O-18 beam with a Li2O target. Upper limits of 1.9+/-0.4 mub, 0.012+/-0.003 mub, and 15.5+/-3.9 mub have been set on the total cross sections for the O-16(O-18,Be-10(*)(6 MeV)+He-6)Ne-18, Li-7(O-18,Be-10(*)(6 MeV)+He-6)B-9, and O-16(O-18,He-6+He-6+alpha)Ne-18 reactions, respectively.
