Abstract

The focus of this chapter is on those forms of abuse, usually sexual, but also physical and neglectful and always emotional, that have a ritualistic element and may be linked to beliefs about whitchcraft, the devil or spirit possession. This chapters concludes the book Safeguarding Children in Primary Health Care. The books gives an overview of the challenges primary health care professionals now face in recognising and responding to concerns about a child's safety from abuse and neglect.
