Abstract

Two new polymorphic nickel phosphonates have been prepared by a reaction between nickel acetate and diethyl cyanomethyl-phosphonate. The acidity of the nickel solution affects the hydrolysis of the phosphonate to produce the phosphonic acid in situ.
