Abstract
This plenary lecture addresses recent advances in research and practice to enable greener cities, which integrates infrastructures, built environment and the environment together. The uses of artificial intelligence and digital twins to co-design greener cities that are applicable to both new buildings and existing counterparts will be highlighted. Key challenges to implement and to enact greener cities will be addressed to assure that the cities can be smart, resilient and also sustainable.
