Palliative Care for People Living with Mental Illness and People with Intellectual Disabilities

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

    Abstract

This chapter explores the barriers to palliative and end-of-life care for people living with mental illness and people with intellectual disabilities. Located in recent research, policy, and innovation, it explores what individuals and organisations can do to improve care for two communities of patients who experience marginalisation and discrimination across health-care settings. The voices of people living with mental illness and incurable physical health conditions and people with intellectual disabilities are woven throughout and have informed the content of the chapter.
