Abstract

This draft paper presents SAR imagery and measurements
showing specular and Bragg scattering from overhead power
cables using an airborne high-resolution radar system
operating in the Ka band. The final paper will include Ku band
data in addition to the Ka band data for one scenario presented
here and the results will show that Bragg scattering can be
measured at Ku band which is at a lower frequency than
previously reported. This paper also shows the effect of cable
tautness as this can be seen to significantly alter both the
specular and Bragg lobe widths.
