Abstract

UTD-based radiowave propagation prediction models are gaining extensive popularity as versatile system planning tools, particularly in the context of cellular and microcellular mobile radio systems. A significant advantage of such models is that they can predict wideband radio channel characteristics. The present work aims to establish in principle, that UTD-based propagation models should be used with caution in producing wideband radio channel information, as there exist fundamental limitations in the procedure for predicting the overall radio system performance.
