Abstract

This paper describes the construction and use of 'modified Taylor diagrams' and, as an example use, compares four ionospheric models. The example use is an extension of the work carried out by McNamara et al. [1], and serves to highlight the advantages of using such diagrams to compare ionospheric models. Modified Taylor diagrams provide an easy way of visualizing and comparing statistical information about a number of models, and for multiple parameters, simultaneously. Using modified Taylor diagrams has led to new conclusions about the models tested in [1].
