Abstract
Searches are presented for ๐ต+๐ โ๐ทโขโ+โกโโ decays, where ๐ท is a charmed meson and โยฑ is a charged pion or kaon, using ๐โข๐ collision data collected by the LHCb experiment corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9โโfbโ1. The decays ๐ต+๐ โ๐ท+โข๐พ+โข๐โ, ๐ต+๐ โ๐ท*+โข๐พ+โข๐โ, and ๐ต+๐ โ๐ท+๐ โข๐พ+โข๐พโ are observed for the first time. Their branching fractions, expressed as ratios relative to that of the ๐ต+๐ โ๐ต0๐ โข๐+ decay, are determined to be โโก(๐ต+๐โ๐ท+โข๐พ+โข๐โ) = (1.96 ยฑ 0.23 ยฑ 0.08 ยฑ 0.10) ร 10โ3, โโก(๐ต+๐โ๐ท*+โข๐พ+โข๐โ) = 3.67 ยฑ 0.55 ยฑ 0.24 ยฑ 0.20) ร 10โ3, โโก(๐ต+๐โ๐ท+๐ โข๐พ+โข๐พโ) = 1.61 ยฑ 0.35 ยฑ 0.13 ยฑ 0.07) ร 10โ3, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third is due to the limited precision on the ๐ท-meson branching fractions. The decay channels proceed primarily through excited ๐พ0 or ๐ท0 resonances or ๐ mesons, and open a new avenue for studies of charge-parity violation in beauty mesons.
