Abstract
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is caused by the increased deposition of fat in the liver as occurs in the setting of adiposity and/or diabetes. It is increasingly common, and now accounts for a larger proportion of patients being considered for liver transplantation. My talk will focus firstly on the tools that can be used to identify those patients that are at the greatest risk of having more advanced liver fibrosis. Then I will cover the strategies to help in the management of such patients which includes behavioural change as well as the many emerging pharmacotherapies.
