Abstract

Here, the authors present a new type of split-ring resonator (SRR) constructed from high dielectric constant material. Compared to conventional metal SRRs, such resonators have significantly higher unloaded quality factor ( Qu). A new class of microwave filter is presented using the dielectric SRR. Two examples of different filter configurations are investigated, and the measured results show excellent performance. Good agreement between measurements and simulations has been achieved.
