Abstract

Aggravation of environmental problems and reduction of natural resources have been the impetus for designing clean and economical vehicles. Therefore, refurbishing fuel-driven vehicles with gasoline or diesel fuel using natural gas or biogas is suggested. An experimental sample of an electromagnetic gas regulator (EGR) was designed for this purpose. The aim of the work was to obtain the adjusting characteristics of the designed EGR prototype of the power supply system of the internal combustion engine 6CHGN13 / 14, converted from diesel engine YaMZ-236 and equipped with a gas turbine overcharge. The EGR was studied on a non-motorized stand. The analysis of the results showed that when organizing the automation of the measurement process using modern computer technologies, it is possible to determine the instant and hourly fuel consumption in real time, which simplifies the processing the test results. The measurement error of the cycle fuel supply of the EGR prototype was estimated. It was ascertained that the average error of measuring the determination of gas flow and cycle flow by the proposed method does not exceed 5%. The results of studies of the dependences of the actuation voltage and the release voltage are obtained. The results obtained can be used in converting vehicles on liquid fuel into vehicles working on gas.
