Abstract
Global demand for high performance net-shape NdFeB hard magnets is growing at a rapid pace - thanks, in part, to the move towards electrification in vehicles. Metal Injection Moulding is a unique net-shape processing route that is not only highly efficient in terms of material usage, but also offers the potential to use fully recycled raw materials. Carlo Burghardt and colleagues from the EU’s REProMag project report on an initial evaluation of the MIM processing for this material and highlight areas for future development.
