Abstract
Recently, wideband antennas with band-notched behavior have attracted increasing interest. This paper presents a conical monopole antenna with four C-shaped slots to achieve improved band-rejection behavior with at least 28 dB of gain suppression. Compared to previous work reported in the literature, the antenna provides a relatively wide rejection band with increased gain suppression, at the notch-band center frequency. The antenna also provides an omnidirectional radiation pattern at frequencies within the operating band. (C) 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
