Abstract
We have estimated the energy associated with vortex crossing in an anisotropic, clean HTC superconductor. The calculation was performed using the Ginzburg-Landau free energy functional and the lowest Landau level approximation. We found that the energy of crossing U-x is low; for instance U-x similar to 8k(B)T(M) at the experimentally measured melting line implying that vortex crossing is an important feature of the vortex liquid regime of HTC superconductors.
