Abstract

Two patch antennas integrated with Schottky diodes are implemented to act as direct-conversion transceivers. The antennas' performances, such as modulation, demodulation, radiation pattern, and conversion loss, are analyzed and measured. The advantages of the active antennas are simple circuitry, low power consumption, and natural rejection for the image-frequency signal. (C) 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
