Abstract

This chapter gives an overview of diachronic construction grammar, a subtype of construction grammar that is concerned with modeling and understanding language change. It introduces various frameworks and applications of construction grammar to language change such as the constructionalization-and-constructional-change framework, collostructional changes and radically usage-based diachronic construction grammar.
