Abstract
Condition based maintenance requires the continuous remote condition monitoring of critical wind turbines components. In order for a condition based maintenance strategy to be successful and efficient enough the data acquired from remote condition monitoring systems installed on a wind turbine must be accurate, consistent and reliable. The main objective of the NIMO consortium (www.nimoproject.eu) has been to develop and demonstrate a cost-efficient integrated condition monitoring system which is capable of accurately evaluating the condition of the most important wind turbine components. In this paper we present some key results arising from the NIMO system tests.
