Abstract

This case study explores the development of summer school and study abroad options within a 4+0 dual degree programme between the University of Birmingham and Jinan University as part of their joint institute.

Created in 2016 and admitting students to one of four programmes of mathematics since 2017. The Jinan University - University of Birmingham Joint Institute (J-BJI) is established under the Chinese Ministry of Educations Chinese -Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools (CFCRS).

This case study explores the reasons behind the development of additional opportunities for students of the J-BJI, and some of the challenges faced.
