Abstract
The alpha+He-6 decay of Be-10 has been studied via the Li-7(Li-7, alpha He-6) alpha reaction at 58 MeV. The excitation energy of the Be-10 nucleus was determined following the coincident detection of the alpha and He-6 decay products. A study of the fragment angular correlations has provided a spin assignment consistent with the previously reported value of 3(-) for the 10.15 MeV state in Be-10. A tentative assignment of (4(+)), 6(+) is proposed for the 11.76 MeV state.
