abstract = "This report presents the main results from a qualitative study on the education and social inclusion of persons with visual impairments in Senegal that was carried out in 2014-2015. The research was funded by Irish Aid as part of a larger programme on Education and Social Inclusion in five West African countries. The study was conducted in collaboration with Sightsavers Senegal Country Office, Sightsavers Global Office, l'Universit{\'e} C. A. Diop de Dakar and the Department of Disability, Inclusion and Special Needs (DISN), School of Education, University of Birmingham. The main aim of this study was to collect primary data on the experiences of people with disabilities and their families to gain a better understanding of the enablers and barriers to education and social inclusion. The main focus was on individuals who have been supported by Sightsavers in pilot projects between 2011 and 2014. ",
