Abstract

The General Household Surveys are used to construct monthly, quarterly and annual sickness absence series for British full-time workers in 1971-1984. We find a downward trend in absenteeism over the period and a seasonal pattern with absenteeism being highest during January/February and lowest during the middle months of the year. ; Absence from work; Absenteeism; Illness
