Abstract
Mediation is struggling to find a place within administrative justice in England. The lack of conceptualisation of the concept of administrative mediation and the competition of other forms of ADR in the administrative and judicial landscapes explain partly the marginal place that mediation occupies therein.
A pilot study of SEND mediation attempts to trigger a reflection on the concept of administrative mediation. This conceptualisation could facilitate a better anchoring of mediation in administrative justice.
