My first book (Race, Ethnicity and Education, 1990) was listed as one of the most important 40 publications in the last 40 years – “as part of our 40th anniversary celebrations in 2014, BERA has collected together a set of 40 landmark studies that have had a significant impact on educational policy, educational practice, research methodology and/or educational theory over the past 40 years.”
