Biography
Tamlyn Monson is a part-time postdoctoral research fellow at the Intellectual Disabilities Research Institute (IDRIS) at the University of Birmingham. She works on the CONNECT research project, which involves realist synthesis, evaluation and co-production toward better community engagement and participation of adults with learning disabilities. She has a multidisciplinary background and has worked across the government, NGO and academic spheres in South Africa and the UK. Her past research has predominantly looked at at how social inclusion and exclusion are shaped by inequalities of mobility, space and power. Tamlyn also works part-time at the Institute for Peace and Security at Coventry University, where she works on ethnographic research projects relating to immigrant inclusion and exclusion.
