Biography

Simon is a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) funded Medical Statistician working within the Biostatistics, Evidence Synthesis, Test Evaluation and prediction Models (BESTEAM) research team at the University of Birmingham. His expertise are in test evaluation, biological variability, longitudinal modelling, and routine data. Simon works closely with Professor's Jon Deeks and Alice Sitch under the Data, Diagnostics and Decision Tools programme of work, and was examined for a PhD by Professor's Peter Diggle and Tom Marshall. His previous work has led him to collaborate with the British Medical Journal (BMJ), Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), and European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS). Simon has experience presenting at the Methods for Evaluating Models, Tests and Biomarkers (MEMTAB) conference, and International Society for Clinical Biostatistics (ISCB) conference. His provision of statistical support has led to the completion of a number of projects, several of which have now been published.
