PhD projects

John Fossey’s team’s research is directed towards the development of catalysts for organic synthesis and sensors for health and the environment. Catalysis and sensing share many fundamental principles; the group aims to exploit that cross-over to generate exciting new ways to make and detect molecules. The team works closely with groups in China, Japan, Switzerland and the USA; its doctoral researchers have the chance to engage with these groups and potentially to visit their labs.
