Dr Johanne Bruun is an environmental political geographer focusing broadly on the intersection between scientific practice and material politics. Her work cuts across geographies of science and knowledge production, environmental history, museum archives and collecting culture, as well as feminist political geography. 

Johanne completed her studies in Political Geography at Durham University, earning her doctorate in 2018. Before joining University of Birmingham in September 2022, Johanne held a postdoc position at the Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge. During this time, she also held the position of postdoctoral research associate at Pembroke College, University of Cambridge. 

As part of her current role, Johanne works as Research Lead for the Lapworth Museum of Geology.
