The main interest of Jim Tucker’s research group is in DNA chemistry and supramolecular chemistry and in particular the study of functional redox-active and photo-active systems. The group are particularly interested in systems where guest binding can be sensed or controlled using an external stimulus, leading to the development of molecular sensors for a range of biological targets (eg, amino acids and DNA) and molecular switches for nanotechnological applications.
