PhD projects

Jian Yang’s wide-ranging research interests and projects are as follows:

The applications of fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) in structural engineering: repairing and strengthening of RC/metallic structures using FRP; and the integration of FRP with traditional construction materials
The structural use of glass: impact performance, post-breakage behaviour and innovative connections of glass structures
Structural behaviours of composite materials or composite structures: interfacial properties of laminated composites or composite structures
Innovative and sustainable building systems using structural insulated panels (SIPs): structural characterisations of SIPs, connections between adjacent SIPs and SIPs/steel sections
Cold-formed thin gauge steel sections: 3D nonlinear structural analysis of cold-formed steel purlin; plastic design of cold formed steel profiles with various connections; ductility of light steel profiles
