Biography

Dr. Janak Parmar is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Birmingham, UK, specialising in sustainable transport, travel behaviour, and electric mobility. He completed his PhD in Territory, Innovation and Sustainability at the University of Niccolò Cusano, Italy, where his research focused on the adoption of shared electric mobility systems and their impacts on travel behaviour. His work integrates behavioural science with advanced quantitative methods, including structural equation modelling, hybrid latent class choice models, discrete choice modelling, machine learning, and multi-criteria decision analysis, to support evidence-based transport policy. Dr. Parmar has authored numerous publications in leading transportation journals and presented his research at major international conferences. He also has teaching and mentoring experience across the UK, Italy, and India.

His current MSCA research project - EMBARK (Electrifying Mobility: Behaviour, Analytics, Regulation, and Knowledge for Decarbonization, £240k) - focuses on electric mobility, vehicle-to-grid integration, and transport decarbonisation, with the aim of developing innovative and policy-relevant solutions for carbon-free future mobility systems.
