Flavio Garcia's principal research interests cover:

Cryptographic protocols and primitives
Cryptanalysis and reverse engineering
Embedded devices security
Radio frequency identification (RFID) security and privacy
Privacy enhancing technologies
Dr Garcia has previously supervised postgraduate research in the areas of security analysis of RFID tags and analysis of the MIFARE Classic used in the OV-Chipkaart project.
