PhD projects

David Grainger is an expert in the field of bacterial chromosome biology. Having developed the use of high-throughput techniques to map gene regulatory events in bacteria, his current work focuses on deciphering the chromosome biology of pathogenic bacteria. His research group is focused on understanding mechanisms of DNA folding in organisms such as E. coli and Salmonella, and how this process impinges upon gene expression, DNA replication and pathogenicity.

Dr Grainger can supervise doctoral researchers in all his areas of interest and is always keen to welcome enthusiastic individuals to his lab.
