Daniel Rea is a Medical Oncologist with a research interest in Breast Cancer primarily focusing on large randomized trials of endocrine therapy and chemotherapy in early disease. With an emphasis on associated translational work using tumour samples associated with the trials. He also has an interest in Inflamatory breast cancer and works with a number of laboratory groups within the School and extramurally. Trials in development include the use of novel biomarkers to select optimal chemotherapy for neoadjuvant treatment. The identification of women with asymptomatic ductal carcinoma in situ with low probability of progression to invasive disease wher observation rather than Surgery is appropriate.
