Current research interests are in the field of management accounting: processes of management accounting change and resistance to the implementation new systems; the changing nature of management accounting practices and their impact within business organisations; performance measurement systems and their use in the integration of global organisations; the use and effects of information technology on management control and performance management systems; the role of case study research methods; the theoretical contributions of institutional theory and structuration theory.
