Personal profile
Biography
Basit is a PhD researcher at the University of Birmingham, UK specializing in power electronics and renewable energy systems. His research focuses on grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems, with particular emphasis on the design, control, and fault detection of power electronic converters.
Research interests
His research focuses on grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems, with particular emphasis on the design, control, and fault detection of power electronic converters. To validate his control strategies and fault detection algorithms, he employs real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation using Typhoon HIL. His broader research goal is to enhance the performance, reliability, and stability of grid-connected PV systems.
Qualifications
Basit Ali received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Power Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Peshawar, Pakistan, in 2018 and 2021, respectively. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Electronic, Electrical & Systems Engineering at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom
