Biography
Anum Pirkani (Member, IEEE, IET) received her M.Sc. in RF and Microwaves from the University of Birmingham (UoB) in 2018, and her Ph.D. in Radar Systems from UoB in 2023. She has been affiliated with the Microwave Integrated Systems Laboratory (MISL) since 2017, where she is currently a post-doctoral research fellow. Prior to her time at MISL, she led an RF and Microwave design team, bringing over five years of industry experience. With more than a decade of combined academic and industrial expertise, Anum specializes in the design and development of radar systems.
Her research interests include radar signal processing, cognitive sensing, autonomous platforms, healthcare applications of radar, and RF and microwave systems and devices.
She has been awarded the Best Paper at the European Radar Conference (EuRAD) 2023, the Young Scientist Award at the International Radar Symposium (IRS) 2024, the Radcliffe Award from UoB in 2023, and Best Poster Awards at EMSIG in 2018, 2022, and 2024.
