Dr. Ambi Ambituuni (Ambi) is an Associate Professor in Project Management and a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. He is deeply committed to promoting a multi-disciplinary solution-based approach to sustainable development. Consequently, on the one hand, his work focuses on the sustainable intersection between people and technologies/systems from the perspectives of projects in society, including aspects of risk management, energy transition, circular economy, the responsible adoption of project technologies such as AI, transparency, and anti-corruption in public infrastructure projects. On the other hand, he takes a critical perspective on the role of actors within social and organisational systems to advance equitable and ethical decision-making, enhance stakeholder engagement, and promote accountability in achieving sustainable development goals. His research emphasises the importance of collaboration across disciplines, sectors, and geographies to address grand challenges, particularly in the context of transitioning to greener economies and resilience in business and communities. Ambi has published in many 3 and 4 star Chartered ABS journals and remains an active member of the project management global community. He is currently the Track Chair of the Project Experience SIG at the British Academy of Management (BAM) where he supports the development and advancement of the project management research community.
Ambi is experienced in the management and leadership of teaching and learning and has held vital roles in the development of faculty-wide strategies. He has in-depth programme enhancement, leadership and development experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He oversaw the EFMD (EPAS), APM, CMI, PRME and IRM accreditation processes on various programmes.
Ambi is a recipient of the prestigious Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) for both MSc and Ph.D and has won numerous research and executive training grants as the PI or Co-I to the tune of over £5.4m from prestigious funders like NERC, UKRI-AHRC, PTDF, African Development Bank and DCMS.
