Biography
Alexandra "Ali" Astin is a researcher on human emotion working at the intersection of the dramatic arts and anthropology. Her mission is to combat a global epidemic disassociation and emotional numbness by helping actors and non-actors develop emotional agency. She does this using interdisciplinary, cross-cultural methodologies for accessing and regulating core feelings. Her current research focuses on forming a synthesis between Chinese ritual theory, Sanskrit Rasa theory, and Stella Adler Imagination exercises.
