Biography
I am an Islamic Studies Ph.D. student at the Department of Theology and Religion at the University of Birmingham. I also work as a Religious Supervisor for The Omani Studies Centre at Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat. I have been recently appointed as the Chairman of the Sharī’ah Supervisory Board at Sohar Islamic Bank. I hold an MA degree in Islamic Studies from the University of Birmingham, in 2016. I authored an eight-volume series of books on Islamic Jurisprudence called al-Muᶜtamad, including the sixth volume on Islamic Financial Transactions, and the seventh and eighth on Islamic Banking. In 2016, I published my English book Articles on Ibāḍī Studies. In February 2017, I published my translation of the first volume ‘The Reliable Jurisprudence of Prayer’ from Arabic into English. In 2019, I translated ‘Christians in Oman’ from English into Arabic. I presented some academic papers at some international conferences in Islamic Studies, including The Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies Forum 2017 at Birmingham University, The British Society for Middle Eastern Studies Conference in 2018 at King’s College London, at the University of Leeds in 2019, at the British Society for Middle Studies in 2021 and at the British Association for Islamic Studies at the University of Edinburgh in June 2022.
