Research data supporting the publication "Ruled by construal? Framing article choice in English"

Dataset

Description

The paper underpinned by this dataset looks at article choice in English based on survey data collected from 181 native speakers of English. The survey consisted of 172 questions, of which each individual participant saw approximately 60. We measure the restrictiveness of a context using Entropy and find that some contextual features such as the specificity of the referent are more restrictive while Hearer Knowledge is more open to construal.
