'Testimony in Practice' Campaign, Exhibition and Clock Tower Projection

As part of the project, 'Testimony in Practice', we launched an online campaign to gather the life stories of Central and Eastern Europeans living in the UK. These were then transformed into an innovative and multi-media exhibition, commissioned by our project partners, Centrala Space, and produced by artists Maciek Baczyk and Emma Lockey. The exhibition was hosted by Centrala in September and October 2019 and by the Romanian Cultural Institute in London in November 2019. It was visited by more than 2000 people who reported a changed understanding of the history of Central and Eastern Europe and the experience of migration. Following the launch of the exhibition, Baczyk produced a further audiovisual artwork based on the testimonies, which was projected onto the 'Old Joe' Clocktower as part of a series of events during the Green Heart Festival in October 2019 ('Revolutions: 1989 in 2019').
