Re-thinking Mobility & Transport Research Network (BMTRN)

Description

This workshop will provide a structured space to reflect, refine, and strengthen the intellectual and organisational foundations of a cross-college mobility and transport research network at the University of Birmingham. 

The workshop will bring together researchers from cross-disciplines to address mission-led challenges in mobility and transport that cannot be adequately tackled within single disciplines.

The workshop will explicitly address recognised barriers to interdisciplinary working, including differences in language, methods, scales of analysis, and funding logics. 

The workshop will have a strong emphasis on co-development of fundable research themes, integrated methodologies, and network governance structures. Outcomes will directly support future external funding applications, interdisciplinary publications, and policy engagement, positioning the University of Birmingham as a leader in mobility and transport research.
